What is needed in registering a 29 ford hot rod from nevada to california? Going to buy a 29 Ford Model A hot-rod. Aftermarket frame ( unknown year ) Original body, 1980 Ford 302 Motor. Registered in Nevada with special plates that say "Street Rod" and the plate only has 4 numbers. I live in california and want to know if I will have to smog this car. I recentlly bought a 1991 ford f-350 junk truck that has the old 7.3L engine without the turbo, and have plans to turn it into a custom hot rod. building a hot rod, lost our MSD and HOLLEY California legal stickers, are they replaceable? building a hot rod from the ground up, and we lost our little stickers stating that the holly carbouraters and the msd ignition box and coil are legal in CA. are these tags replaceable? they have to be on the car or else were screwed when it comes to registration. little metal tag sticker that says CA state legal with the MSD log, and a silver sticker from holley stating the same thing.

Testing for a grounded wire in my Hot Rod? I just finished the wiring in my Hot Rod and was fixing to install my battery. I took my volt meter to test and make sure that I didn't have a grounded wire before installing the battery. I took the positive lead and put it on one side of the meter and the negative lead on the other. This gave me an Ohm reading of 2.0?!?!? It didn't beep like it had a grounded wire, just gave me an ohm reading. I figured if everything was good I wouldn't get a reading at all. What should it do?

I feel that this could be a new trend in engine building, given our current options. I know that my next engine will be built to burn E-85, and I'm looking for some input and technical comments.

How much would it cost to have a hot rod built for me? This is mostly for future reference...nothing I would do immediately...but how much would it cost to buy an old muscle car that barely runs, if at all, just make sure the frame is in good shape, and throw a new engine, transmission, and whatever else needs replacing (suspension?). I wouldn't want it restored to its original state, just well enough so it could drive regularly on a ncie sunny day and growl loudly while doing it. what is the difference between RAT/HOT/STREET Rod??? im pretty sure i know the difference between rat rods cuz they are the rust bucket ones, but what is the differnce between street and hot rod if any?
Anode Rod in hot water heater I need to remove!? My new hot water heater makes my water stink to high havens. I was told by a water spaecliast to take the rod out and cut it flush. Has any one here ever had to do the same, I rather replace the hot water heater every ten years or so then smell thet rotten water. Does anyone know about a mixing valve and anode rod for a hot water heater? (more details below)? Our new water heater has turned our water into black, greasy water that smells like poison fumes. I called the company and they said we needed to install a mixing valve and an anode rod. They said it needed to be drained and then refilled adding in 1.5 gallons of bleach to flush it through. They said the reason this is happening is, our well water which is rusty is not mixing with the aluminum anode rod. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks
