What rod and reel set up to fish off costal rocks? I was thinking about buying a relatively cheap (less than £50) rod reel set up to fish off some rocks in Anglesey. Can anyone recommend a set up. I hope to catch more than just mackerel.
What rod and reel combo to use for fishing on the shore of a reservoir? I want to buy my husband a rod/reel combo for our anniversary . but i don't know anything at all about them. there is a state park near us with a nice reservoir that he can fish at. i don't know what kind of fish are in it or anything. i would really appreciate any advice about what type of rod/reel to get and what size, etc. i found a couple at bass pro shop that looked decent but i don't know what size to get, and what type of line to buy, or if the pole comes with it. What would be the best rod for a Pflueger President reel? It will mostly be used for largemouth and smallmouth bass. Once in a while I fish for pickeral and trout. If it helps, I will be using soft plastic worms and Rapala Shad Rap lures. Also, what is another good rod&reel combination to use for 150-200 dollars?
Does it matter if you use a spinning rod/reel compared to a baitcaster when bass fishing? I am looking for an ultra-light bait cast reel and rod? I am looking for an ultra-light bait cast reel and rod. I want to switch to more ultra-light fishing in lieu of medium-heavy to heavy tackle, but I don't want to go away from a bait cast reel. Would a 20 lb test line cause problems for a 6-10 lb rod/reel setup? I have a 6-10 lb test push button rod that I've had forever and use as a backup. If I want monofilament on one of my rod/reel setups, which should it be? These are my baitcasting setups: a 7'MH BPS Pro Qualifier XPS trigger rod with a Shimano Citica and a 7'M BPS Extreme XPS trigger rod with a Shimano Curado. How to assemble spinning reel rod? I bought a eagle claw rod with a spinning reel and was hoping to go out fishing with a friend, but I didn't receive an instruction manual with the box. How do you rig a salt water fishing rod and reel? I have a salt water rod and reel I need to rig but can't figure out how to do it. The spool that the line is on does not rotate when the reel is turned which would make it impossible to reel back in once cast out. How important is the rod/reel when fishing? Well my friend dished out $900 for a fishing rod. People always say how a good rod is very important. But in my opinion it has little importance. How do you use a spinning reel fishing rod properly? I recently started using a spinning reel fishing rod. How do I use it? The guy at the store explained it kinda vaguely since he didn't know exactly how to. I flip over the spinning part and grab hold of the line with my finger. When I cast I let go of the line. But when I cast it, it goes forward, and then comes back or stops letting out line. I haven't been able to cast it more than 15 feet. Another thing is I repeatedly get bird nests the line on the reel always gets tangled. What am I doing wrong?

I would like something strong enough to catch a larger fish if it comes my way, but with enough finesse to make smaller catches fun. I use lots of spinners and buzzbaits. Any Suggestions?

What is the correct method of installing fishing line through the rod guides, inside the reel? I just bought a zebco fishing rod, but the line was tangled inside, so I took the line out, untangled it, and now I don't know how it gets wound around the guides before it gets threaded through the hole in the notched metal cap before going outside to the pole. Was given a reely old rod and reel. It has "1924 Wondereel Deluxe by Shakespeare". Is it worth anything? I was given a really old looking rod and reel that even has what appears to be very old fishing line and lure on it. It has "1924 Wondereel Deluxe by Shakespeare." And then down by the bottom "Nickel Silver" and below that "Model FK." It can't be 83 years old. What is it worth, it's in really good shape.
