How do You Cast a Fly Rod?
Public Comments
- In flyfishing the weight to carry the fly (hook) is provided by the line which is thicker and heavier than a regular fishing line, the 'false casts' (the bit where the line goes back and forth) loads the rod to give it the power to throw the line and fly out the required distance, hopefully then to land gently on the water with little or no disturbance. It isn't physically dificult to flyfish it's all in technique I would recomend a lesson with an instructor to get you started.
