How do you determine which action spinning rod to buy?

Public Comments

  1. Your spinning rod action should match your target specie and presentation. Please note there are two main variables, action and power. Here is a great tool. http://www.stcroixrods.com/rodselector/default.asp Good luck! Jason
  2. I have to check the reel out physically. If it the combo has the right weight, feel, price range, I will check it out. I also talk with some of my fishing friends and get their opinions, and if I ask they would let me check out their combos.
  3. it depends what your going for. if your going for trout, bluegill, perch you want a light action with 2-8 lb line. if your going for bass, walleye, pike, muskie you should get a medium with at least 12lb line. and for salt water fish you should get a heavier action rod and real with 15-25 lb line. and if you want something between light and medium go with some with 10lb line.
  4. If you have any fishing pictures we would like for you to create your own page on www.thesmokingtuna.com Thank you so much!!!
