How hard is it to change a tie-rod end at home on a rear wheel drive family sedan?

It is on a 1996 Holden VS Commodore. I have my own tools but nothing specific to tie rod ends. I know that once it is changed it will need a wheel alignment immediately; but I just want to know how difficult is it to change the ends at home?

2. peice of cake. 2 jack stands,large hammer and a pair of pliers for the cotter pin, and just lossen the 3/4 inch nut enough that you still have it on the treads and then hit that sucker at the nut and the thing should pop lose its about a 1 1/2 hour job
3. It isn't actually that difficult but by the time you add your time, the tool rental and having an alignment done, you may was well have it done at a shop.
4. not hard at all, you just need a 2lbs hammer and a some wrenches, rember to hit the knucle and not the rod to loosen it, then have car realigned.
5. most of the time its not hard and you can knock them out with a hammer. But sometimes they are rusted in and you need a special ball joint puller
