How do I get a fishing rod on Animal Crossing city folk?

I really want to fish on it. It looks fun. But I have no clue how to get a fishing rod, is it in Tom Nook's shop?

1. yes it is in Tom Nook's Shop. He will sell it there for 500 bells. If it is not there today, then it'll probably be there in the next one or two days. just be patient
2. Its real easy to get the fishing rod... First, get some money by doing whatever you personally do to get money (varies for different people,btw). Note: You need 500 bells. I would recommend selling 5 of your local fruit... Go into Tom Nook's store (i'm guessing you still have Nook's Cranny) and there is a shelf like thing right behind where Tom Nook stands to greet you as you walk in. There is where you will buy all your tools, including the fishing rod. There are watering cans, axes, bug nets, and more. Note: Nook's Cranny only holds three tools at a time so if the fishing rod is not there, either wait until tomorrow or change the date (comment if you do not know how to do this and I will explain). Go up to the fishing rod and press 'A' like a normal transaction. Tom Nook can explain how to use the fishing rod if you don't know how to use it... Hope I could help and yes, fishing is fun
