  1. Just go to a walmart or a sporting goods store and ask them this will be you best bet to find one that is right for you.
  2. well acytually if u are gonna start fishing lots for anything then id get a g-loomis not the cheap ones im talkin ones like around 100-300...it is very good rod for anything theyre light and very comftorble...if u do get a g-loomis get one like the imx or glx and once wen bought u will never want people to use it...its like a third arm...be sure to get a good action too cause if its too light it wont be good for all kinds of fish. if not then just find a good quality rod that isnt too light that it feels like plastic and is not 2 flimsy...
  3. if you want info as well as an outfit, go to your local tackle store, they should put you on the right path. Or, go to K-Mart or Big W, they carry some good cheap combos, last one, if you have BCF in Melbourne, try them as well..
  4. the best of the shelf rod is id say is the Shakespeare ugly stick light to medium rod tip action with about 6-8lbs test line on a shakespeare spinning reel(usually comes with the rod at wal-mart or bass pro) but if you want expensive get shimano sets ya back bout $150 the ugly stick combo cost some were around 20-30 bucks its a good rod its all id buy when i was young. catch some biggn's!
