I bought a push button kid's fishing rod. How do I hook up the line?

I got a Batman fishing rod for my 3 year old--push button. There is line in it and a plastic fish came with it so he would always have a 'fish' to reel in. I have no idea how to hook it up. Do I thread it through the eyelets and just tie the fish on? I was practicing casting the line and it won't cast. Is that because there is no weight on it yet?

1. Yes, push the button and feed the line through the eyelets (we call them guides). At the end after the line is through all the eyelets tie the plastic fish to the line. Yes, the weight of the lure now makes it possible to cast and you should now be able to cast the lure. Good luck and have fun - 73 from the Fisherman
