My fishing rod in Zelda Twighlight princess has disappeared from inventory how do I find it?

I was given the fishing rod after getting cradle. I saved and ended. Now I have no fishing rod in inventory yet mother has cradle and boy tells me Ihavethe rod....

1. is it in quick tab. might be a glitch and you might have to restart. :(
2. There is no reason why it shouldnt be there. Its a part just like the hero's bow and the gale boomerang. I think it might be a glitch. You should ask experts to have a look at your situation.
