How can I bend a rod for a bow window?
Is there any way to curve a metal or plastic rod without hiring professionals? The curtain will be a pocket rod so the rod does not have to be pretty plus there will be a top valance covering it.

- I've never seen this done before but even if you can I don't think the curtains will look right.....Don't you????? Or even function right...... Just something to think about......
- the metal can either be heated with a heat gun, or use a emt conduit pipe bender, should be able to get one at Lowe's or HOme depot in the electrical section.
- You can use electrical conduit, flexible copper, or even cpvc plumbing for your curtain rod. The cpvc is somewhat flexible on its own, if you have some way to secure the ends. It will tend to spring straight, if released. If you need to form a curve, and have it stay in that shape, then I'd suggest the flexible copper (which you can bend by hand), or the conduit (which is bent with a tool). All of these materials, and the tool can be found at your local building or hardware store, usually in the plumbing departments. Have Fun
- you dont say how wide you need. can you use a curved shower curtain rod? home depot sells them for about $45
- That will be hard to do my friend. If it is just a solid rod, you can heat it useing a torch. Then while hot, bend it into the shape you are after. I hope you have a bench vise. Byee
- They sell them at any curtain store.
