I want too buy a new decent rod and reel for like bass, trout, perch, ect. I never learned too use a spinning reel. Is it worth learning?

- yes get the spinning combo you can catch bigger fish than baitcaster ussually and its not that difficult to learn
- A spinning reel will enable you to cast farther, and use lighter lines that a spincast reel will. It is a superior reel in every way once you learn to use it. You don't see tournament fishermen using spincast reels.
- Yes!, its very easy to use and cast with, plus they have a better drag system and can cast allot further than a spincast reel, once you have learned to use a spinning reel you can move onto a baitcast reel.
- A spinning reel is a step up from the spincast reels. If fishing is just a causal hobby that you don't do very often but enjoy it, then you can catch any of those fish you list with a Zebco 404 spincast reel combo. There's no need to buy an expensive rod and reel unless fishing is a serious hobby. On the other hand, spinning reels are really not that hard to use. After 3-5 practice casts, most people can use a spinning reel with ease. If you think fishing may become a serious hobby, I'd recommend the Shimano Sedona 2500Fb or similar spinning reel with an American Rodsmith rod, like the Genesis or similar. Tight lines
