Good universal spinning rod/reel combo?

I want a rod that can handle panfish,bass,and maybe catfish.

1. Dollar value? Fiberglass 6 foot medium action spinning rod...you can get a suitable rod cheap ($10), but don't scrimp on a reel...Plan on $40-50...and don't buy your reel at a big box store...the ones they sell ARE NOT the same as the similar make/models that the quality sporting goods stores sell...that's why they are cheaper.
2. Is there a budget you want to stay within? (In my opinion), A nice mid-priced outfit that can do triple duty for Bass, Cats & panfish: 1. Pflueger President spinning reel model 6740X -($40-$59) 2. Ugly Stik Lite rod model SP1170-2M-($39) Go to http://www.cabelas.com for reviews of above outfit. Cabelas is also a good place to purchase an outfit as well. Hope this helps ya? Good fishing.
