Would a 8-9 ft Surf Rod designed for 12-30 test adequatley handle rapid dam discharge water? Best reels??
I fish a lot from the bank for stripe and catfish when they release the turbines at my local dams. I took a real thrashing trying to fight the fish and monster current with medium heavy spinning rods and reels! Any suggestions would be appreciated! I've located some killer buys on E-Bay! Or What Rod and reel combo would function better working Big,fast moving water??????

- If you don't need to cast far, it's best to use a conventional reel with 40-pound test line. It's more sturdy and handles rough waters a lot better than a spinning reel.
- you bet, I fish below two different dams here and you could either go with a good ambassaduer 6000 or for less money just get a large shakespeare spincast.
- SO, SO it's OK but but i wouldn't
