How do I determine what weight line to use on my fly rod? It's St. Croix fly rod marked 9000 SF 8' 6".

- go to stcroixrods.com and find out the details there.
- On the rod blank next to the grip there should be a # followed by a number. That is the line weight.
- That is an old, old rod - fiberglass, isn't it? I don't remember if the 9000 indicated it was a 9-weight rod, or if the 9000 is a product line with different line weights. It should say something like "Weighted for X Wgt. Line) right below the 9000, but that may be worn off. http://66.116.131.232/images/glassrods/SC9000-1.jpg
