I believe a rod blew out of my 97 ford explorer, about how much would it cost to have it replaced?

Would cost quite a bit, considering they'd have to pull the motor, and thus be recommended for a rebuild anyways, as there could be more damage, even to the block.
If a "rod blew out" of your Explorer, you probably should be pricing a short block or a used or rebuilt engine rather than getting an estimate to repair the engine in it.
which engine? the ohv pushrod 4.0 would be cheaper than a 4.0 sohc and the 5.0 inbetween..Probably looking at $1000, look for a private mechanic to do ti for lots less..
