  1. A spinning rod is made to bend with the eyes of the rod pointing to the ground, and the reel is supposed to be seated underneath the reel, that is why it looks like you are holding it upside down. The only other differences are the grips are on a different side than a casting rod, and spinning rods have larger eyes because of the spool "spinning". The baitcasting rod has smaller eyes, and is made to bend with the eyes pointing up. The greatness of answering questions on YA! ... I'm addicted.
  2. Charles gave a great answer- it can't be improved on.
  3. One more thing, Spinners do not have what can only be described as a "trigger grip" it's a straight pole casters have a "trigger grip." Link provided shows the spinner on the top and the caster on the bottom. Also as described, Spinners have larger eyelets and tend to be less rigid.
  4. Great answer Charles I never really thought about that but you are right.
  5. hey man there will be people that will tell you all kinds of fancy answers about the difference but i will lay it down to you....the difference between a bait casting rod and a spinning rod is ........nothing same rod same same same people tend to tell some one especially at a big bait and tackle shop that rod number 2 is a bait casting rod and will try to sell it at a higher price because normally the bait caster reel is usually a more expensive reel so people figure spend a lot of money on a reel they will spend a of money on a rod. man there isn't the first difference good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
