What is the best rod and reel brands to buy for fresh water fishing?

I have not been fishing in about 10 years and want to get back into it. It has been so long and tomorrow I am going to the swap meet and they have lot of selections to buy there. What is a quality rod and reel brand name I can look out for while I am there?

I like zebco brand rods and reels, and they are affordable, even at the expensive bait and tackle shops.
I don't know what are the best but my favorites are Zebco and Shakespeare.
look for shimano reels, thy give me the least amount of problems.the rod should match the fishing you are doing. look for rods that are in good condition ,check the eyes thy are the first to go.
i use g.loomis rods and a daiwa reel.... this setup is best for me because i can feel good qualitys in rods and reels but if u dont have 250 to buy a g.loomis then pick a rod thats not too flimsy but not too rigid and has good weight with a reel thats smooth and not too light because if its too light the rod feels weird and unbalanced...
zebco or Rhino. Rhino is made by Zebco. I have a 33 and a Rhino. The Rhino 3 comes with 12lb line I took it off put 8lb it seems a lot smoother than the 33. The Rhino is about the same price as the 33.
They all make some good ones and some bad ones. You should ask a lot of questions when looking at stuff.
If you plan on fishing a lot buy Shimano with an Allstar Rod. If you plan on fishing just a few times go with something cheaper. Zebco Maybe
