would a pflueger trion gx-7 reel fit on a shakespeare ugly stik classic spinning rod?

good combo? tips? tackle recommendations? all answers would be appreciated. thanks also, tackle box recommendations. i need an upgrade from a small/medium sized box. room for many shads, and plenty of room for the bigger stuff (such as knives)

1. The Shakespeare Ugly Stik is probably the most famous brand of fishing rod, it is reliable, affordable, and can take a BEATING. However light biting fish like Crappie will not be easy ones to catch with a regular Ugly Stik. I'm not saying you can't catch these fish with them I am just saying it would be easier with a more sensitive rod. Overall the rod will do fine for just about any game fish. The Pflueger Trion reel is a decent reel at best, but has some good reviews. Should work very good if kept lubed and cleaned. When spooled with the right pound of line I bet it'll cast nicely also. You should do fine with the combo.
