What is an easy line to tie for a fishing rod?

I have simply been tying double knots, and cutting the leftover line, but the line sometimes slips off...What is an easy and good line to tie for a fishing rod?

3. i like the clinch know. it should never slip if its done right.

5. I use the palomar and improved clinch knots as others also recommended. i use fireline, which is a really good brand of fishing line, but expensive ($15 or so). you don't have to replace it as often as monofilament though and it is very abrasion resistant, so you do get your money's worth. I'm kinda a dodo on learning to tie knots (STILL can't seem to learn a boline) but I learned the improved clinch and palomar knots easy.
