Can I put a baitcasting reel on a spinning rod?
Specially putting Abu Garcia black max on a 7 ft medium-heavy ugly stik? Possible?

- Sure it's possible but is it logical? No, not at all. The feel will be terrible, your casts will decrease and be less precise, and a spinning setup just flat out isn't designed for a baitcaster. If you're trying to save a bit of money, look into the Abu Garcia Conolon Premier rods. For the price, they're actually not bad rods at all although I'd suggest getting a better quality rod if possible.
- It would be possible but not practical at all. It's not a good idea. Forget it.
- No. A baitcasting rod first's eye is smaller than a the first eye of a spinning rod. Also on a spinning reel the first eye sits up higher than a baitcasting reel. You could if you wanted to but your casting distance would be greatly affected. Im guessing about 20-50%
- It will FIT on there but it will not be balanced or comfortable to hold. The baitcaster has a rod with a "trigger hold" to help you hold the combo comfortable.
- Well, yes you can but will not work properly. This defeats to purpose of the baitcast reels. Baitcast reels are made for longer and accurate cast, with the spinning rods big rod eyes this will not be possible. Won't you go to Walmart, you can find some baitcast rods there for very affordable price. They may even have some Ugly Stiks there.
