Where can I get a personalised, good quality fishing rod for a good price?

I would like to buy my fella a descent, good priced, personalised fishing rod for a present as I'm going on holiday and he's going to go night fishing while I'm gone and I heard you could get personalized rods. Any ideas. I live in NE London but can order of tinternet. Thanks!

3. hi i stay in perth scotland . there is a shop in dundee called GOWS OF DUNDEE. if u type it into internet it will come up. there stuff is really good quality and they are VERY helpfull.
4. do a search on hanmade rods. they will be custom tied for the specific type of fishing and u can get his name on it also. something like so&so custom rods desinged for your name here.
5. I like cabela's for their choice of combos...basspro is also good.
6. You may have to do a bit of "investigating" & calling. Your best bet is to ring various tackle shops near your home and ask them if they know a fellow who "builds fishing rods". I'll bet you won't have to make more than 2 call's! Most rod builder's, (95%) take pride in their work and can put any color thread, various cork & foam handles, & even have the owner's name scribed on the rod. Make sure to ask how long they've been "building" and how long it will take til completion. If I was getting a rod made I would want "Portuguese" cork WITH "Fugi" graphite reel-seat, "Fugi SiC" Concept Guide System with titanium-plated frames, and either Fenwick's MOD 43 graphite blank ($100) or St. Croix's SC111 graphite blank ($130). Of course, I would love to own the "best" "graphite blank" which is anything from the "G. Loomis" company, but there blanks can be anywhere from $150-$400!!! Go to www.cabelas.com to see the many different types of rod-building material's so you can get a good idea what "the best" and "the cheapest" are. Hope this helps ya? Good luck!
7. I would be more inclined to buy the best rod I could afford. G. Loomis, St. Croix, Kistler to name a few. Then take it somewhere to have his name put on it. He will end up with a better rod, and still have his name on it. I made the mistake of buying a "custom personalized" rod once and found it to be not in the same league as those I mentioned. nd the cost was actually a little higher than the mfg'd rod. Unless you go with a blank made by the same companies, then you have to rely on someone's skill that you may not know to actually build the rod. You would be more confident to buy a rod manufactured by these companies due to the quality control and the consistency of the quality. No matter wha tyou buy a good quality rod will go between 150.00 and the sky is the limit so to speak. I have G. Loomis rods that run from 150.00-350.00 each.
