how do I get a fishing rod on harvest moon ds?

not ds cute. i heard that if you go fishing in the winter that you get big $$ is this true and if it isnt where do i get a fishing rod?

1. On a Saturday go to Galen's house between 11:00 am and 1:00 am and talk to him. Also make sure you don't have a tool equipped when u visit him. When u have the rod u can cast it into any water areas. If u cast it into the pond or ur waterhole on your farmland, you save a sprite. :D YAY I don't know whether the fish in winter r better, but as u upgrade ur rod with ore that u find in the mine, u catch bigger and more valuable fish.
