- If I'm pier fishing, I like to tie the sinker on the bottom of the line, and the hook about 12" up from the sinker. Try to use as light a sinker as possible, so that way you will feel the fishing biting.
- I agree. Use a 3 way swivel. Attach the sinker to about 12-15 inches of line and tie it to one end of the swivel. attach the hook to a 12 inch long line and attach to the lateral ring of the 3 way swivel.
- both answers good! I have a couple ways for set-ups u can try! I use the standard finder rig as mentioned at times but I also get some good stares whenever I rig up with a slip cork but it works so well for me I now have seen others try it too! I will also do a modified finder rig by using a feather or hair jig as my sinker then tie off of a 3 way swivel a jig or hook rig!I work this rig slowly on the bottom and have taken trout, reds, pomps, snook, spades and many more fish on them! I even did this for cobia off pier with the heavy jig on bottom and then tied a small 8"plastic eel on a jig off of upper rig and yes I caught 2 good cobia that day!
