how can I get my two piece fishing rod to separate?

when I went to break down my 7 foot surf fishing rod it wouldn't come apart - top piece was stuck hard in bottom piece. Any ideas as to how to separate them?

  1. WD-40 usually works well for this type of thing.
  2. twisting it normally works for us...and some times force is needed...Good luck....
  3. get some oil and keep twisting it.
  4. Hot water and a hair dryer....
  5. pull harder
  6. WD-40, and a little elbow grease
  7. Use your knee?
  8. Heat up the female side with a lighter. Then twist and pull.
  9. hi, if you spray some wd40 on the joint of even some cooking oil or washing up liquid.. If that does not work try slightly heating the joint with a flame, but be careful
  10. Give them a divorce !
  11. Tap it lightly on the metal part with a piece of wood, or a hammer, but don't beat on it. Have someone pull the other end while you tap on it. If you can, look for a jar opener, they are flap rubber disks, this will help to grip it better, then twist lightly and pull. Good luck.
  12. Try to hold it some hot water for a bit. It may expand
  13. Heat the connection part, then only one side cool it donw really fast with ice, or something. Just the part the goes inside, then pull apart. Heating: Everything expands at once. (Towell & hair blowdryer, Hot water and keep the othe part wrapped in a very cold wrap, etc) Coolind rapidly one side: it will shrink faster than the outside, leaving a very small gap. Enough to separate. Be very careful.
  14. hold an eye on either sides of the break, and twist ......if that doesnt work, pour some boiling water over the break, that should work.
  15. use wd40 let soak over night
  16. Use cold water.
  17. penetrating oil for sure.let me teach you a little trick.next time you use your poll rub the ferrow in your hair til the oils of your hair rub off and lubricate the furrow.due this everytime and your furrow will always be lubricated.
